Designing for a Better Future

Where luxe living was the epitome of style in seasons past, eco fashion is now at the frontlines. Even the once spend-friendly Hollywood elite have taken up the call to recycle and reuse with an enthused alacrity.

Designers have also embraced the movement with a surprising vigor as those already dabbling are brought into the spotlight. Counted among the ranks are vintage veteran Deborah Lindquist and fresh-faced Monica Macha.

Queen of green Deborah Lindquist’s striking designs have been spotted on a myriad of Hollywood starlets, the brand’s collection so versatile as to appeal to styles as diverse as Gwen Stefani and Demi Moore. Miss Lindquist is renowned for her use of ‘reincarnated’ and earth-sensitive fabrics. Her fine designs can be seen in her Skull and Rose Cashmere Cardis, which are created using vintage cashmere.

Taking her page from the same book, designer Monica Macha is making her name on the green scene with her singular vintage jewelry pieces. Many of the original pieces revamped in her designs find their origins as far back as the 1920s. Monica’s distinctive style combined with the classic nature of her materials makes for a collection that’s both timeless and steeped in personality.
