Obsessing Over the 70s!

Flare denim from Hudson Jeans. The 5 pocket Woodstock Flare in Kiln is on my list as an easy basic to add to my wardrobe to transition into spring. They look amazing with the flowing 70s inspired tops, that I cannot wait to get in from Fifteen Twenty and wedges from Nicole.

Lockheart wallets. Well really anything from Lockheart because they are beautifully crafted pieces, but I love my Lockheart wallet! It has a wrist strap so it is easy to grab out of my purse and use as a clutch. It is adorable and functional, and that is a killer combination if you ask me! It holds everything, including a gloss and your phone when you use it as a clutch! The natural colors and eclectic details make them the perfect accessory for my flares and flowing tops.

Monserat De Lucca brass jewelry. This whimsical jewelry collection adds a little personality to any wardrobe. It has a vintage vibe that goes back to my 70s era obsession.

Now all I need is the Farrah Flip and I am will be one happy Minx!

Ask Elyse: Long-lived Leather

Dear Elyse,

I was so excited to get a Lockheart bag to call my own, but already I've managed to get a few scuffs on the leather. What would you recommend as the best way to get my bag back to pristine condition?

-Bernadette

Dear Bernadette,

It's an unfortunate truth that handbags are the accessory more likely to get scratched and scuffed than any other. But since frequent trips to the cleaner's are bound to rack up a bill, I've got a home remedy to return your bag to its best face.
  1. Place a small amount of a gentle, moisturizing soap such as Dove on a damp cloth and bring it to a light lather.
  2. Rub the damp cloth on the leather without putting too much water on the leather.
  3. Wipe away the lather with a fresh damp cloth. Don't rinse the leather in water.
  4. Polish leather with a dry towel.
  5. Treat leather with a leather conditioner after it has dried completely.
To avoid any further damage to your Lockheart, you may consider picking up a Hot Hang Up to keep your purse off the floor in public places.

Hope this helps,

Elyse

Garden Variety

The season is in full bloom, and flowers are cropping up to line gardens and runways alike. Florals have always been a spring fashion favorite, but this season presents a fresh face as thick with variety as the blossoms which inspired it.

It’s easy to make this versatile look your own. It can be sweet and feminine (Hale Bob’s Watercolor Floral Stretch Silk Dress), chic and modern (Sheri Bodell’s Studded Print Shift Dress), or anywhere in between! For a less formal look, try it with a simple but flattering top (Kische Stelle Floral Tank), or tie it in with an accessory (Lockheart Sunshine Tote). Whichever way you decide to go, this trend is bound to grow on you.

It's in the Bag!

You could be wearing cutting edge couture, the most luxurious jewelry, and shoes so gorgeous they could be framed and applauded in an art gallery, but none of it will mean a thing if you're not carrying a the perfect bag. There's something about the right handbag that really completes an outfit, and makes a statement about the person carrying it. So if you're looking to make a statement with your wardrobe, then you should be in the market for one of the exquisite leather purses from Lockheart.
Lockheart Bag Designers Trang Huynh, Jennifer Tash and Genette Smith are as passionate about their customers as they are about the bags they carry; Lockheart bags aren't your typical mass-produced label line. Sure, you can find them at Nordstroms and Saks the world over, but it's unlikely you'll find mass amounts of the same style. That's because Lockheart takes time to create a wide range of styles that, while not one-of-a-kind, are different enough that the wearer feels she has a unique representation of her own style.
Says Tash, "We're the best kept secret, but we're also quite a find if you appreciate artisan details. In this world of mass-production, everything we offer lines up -- you have to take a look and put us under a fine glass."
