The Denim Inspired Dress

The must have classic will never go out of style: denim. Vintage, new, distressed, tailored, light, dark- we love it all. The denim dress was seen in the Spring 2009 Ready-to-Wear fashion show and is still around this season. Check out the LA Made Allie Dress in Indigo-  A summer favorite, great paired with a natural toned waist belt, wedges in summer or boots in the fall.

Summer Business Looks

With rising temperatures this summer it may be hard to find a good work look that keeps you looking professional as well as cool. Here are a few looks that will do both for you.

A nice tailored dress is always an easy business look. Try this Sweetheart Dress in brown by
ABS. Remember to keep the length no higher then the knee and nothing to low cut.

For a more relaxed flowing look try our Nougat Skirt in Cream with raffia. Pair this with a simple light weight cardigan with cami underneath such as our Nougat V-Neck Cardigan in Dust Pink. This look is also great for creating curves for the lower half of the body.

Choose blouses that are light weight and flowing. This blouse by Fifteen Twenty in orchid is great for work and for warmer weather. The ruffled effect in front act as its own accessory. Keep in mind width of straps, they should be no smaller then an inch, and nothing to revealing.

To shop these looks to complete your summer business look check out UrbanMinx.com.

Grammy Glamour

Music's biggest night saw some pretty singular styles strolling the red carpet. The Black Eyed Peas stood out in their collective sci-fi ensembles, with Lady Gaga taking the style a step further in dressing what might have been Saturn's rings.

But among the wild and downright weird designs were absolute stunners, some of which we've selected to recreate just for our readers.

Glee's Lea Michelle went short and flirty in a feathered Romona Keveza frock while Mary J. Blige went for a more modern turn in a sultry cut-out dress from Gucci. Nicole Kidman was pure class and classic in a high collared sheath gown.

Shop these styles and other divine dresses to have you red carpet ready for prom season.

Staff Pick: Barbarella Babe

Sheath styles have a tendency to either ride up uncomfortably or squeeze the life (and the curves) right out of you, but the Bailey 44 Barbarella did no such thing. Amara, our UrbanMinx creative director, adored how it set comfortably on her frame while maintaining a slim and sexy silhouette.

Amara loved the Barbarella Dress so much that she wore it to our UrbanMinx Store Grand opening in Medford last week and she certainly turned some heads.

Staff Pick: Going Full Circle

Our very own Ashland store manager, Tara, has her heart set on Bailey 44's Cylinder dress. Tara loves the dress for it's everyday-wear appeal. Pair it with pumps and a cutey clutch for a night out, or boots and a retro blazer for a more casual look. The possibilities are only limited to your imagination.

And the versatility of the Cylinder dress doesn't end there. This frock flatters all forms. A uniquely ribbled hip detail conceals or creates curves when needed, giving you the ideal shape.
