Hi Lo: Emilio Pucci & Bailey 44

There is absolutely nothing low about this exquisite Bailey 44 Merquez Dress in Zebra print, it is a really beautiful dress with great fit for a seriously great price of $152.
As amazing as the Emilio Pucci printed black and white abstract dress is from net-a-porter, I just don't think that $1,950 is worth it. I know, I know...it's a high fashion designer, etc etc...but I'm sticking with Bailey 44 on this one.
Both are totally chic, modern dresses that are seriously comfortable and fun to wear. Shop Bailey 44 and more at urbanminx.com

Bailey 44: A Sorceresses Philosophy

The only thing we can expect from Bailey 44 is the unexpected, surprising and sometimes magical. I adore these draped Grecian style tops dusted with sparkles.
They are both pretty and delicate without losing any strength. The Bailey 44 Philosophy in Boudoir Top is gorgeous in both white and black.
Also gorgeous and elegant, the Sorceress Top in grey or black.

Whatever your choice, know that the wonders of magic, Harry Potter, sparkly vampires from Twilight and the like don't have to be your only source of excitement. Try Bailey 44's wearable creations that are full of fantasy but easier than wearing a cape.

All American Made Fashion

Being able to buy products made in America is a great feeling, and when I started to really look at the number of designer brands we carry that has their production done in the USA (either all or a percentage of their production) I was impressed. I know it's hard for lines to stay competitive by manufacturing in the USA and so I love it when they are able to. And you don't have to sacrifice fashion either! It's the best of both worlds. Shop our Made in the USA category for just some of the hundreds of products that we carry that are made in America. You can see brands like Bailey 44, 7 For All Mankind, Hudson Jeans, True Religion, Michael Stars and Sky that produce if not all then primarily in the US.

Bailey 44 is one brand that is always squarely on trend, creating modern beauty with an air of luxury and unexpected details. The name of each style is enough to show that they're not just cranking out clothes but really taking the time, creativity and energy to make amazing merchandise.

The Unicorn Coat is the ultimate in luxury and one of my favorites. Nothing would tip you off to the fact that the fur trim collar is totally faux. The Snake Dress fits elegantly with a modern simplicity and cool belt.

The Jack In Irons Jacket at top is a classic piece with a subtle Bailey 44 touch that takes it to levels above ordinary.

Trend Spotting : Military Pieces We Love

We are crazy for military inspired pieces this fall. Wearing olives and blacks with hardware detail gives you a sense of confidence and strangely femininity. We've been getting in a steady stream of beautiful items with an army sensibility. Bailey 44 has created a striking group of clothes with this theme.

Of course heavyweights like Michael Stars and Splendid didn't miss out on this important trend for fall. They both delivered lovely olive greens and military design details.

If you're someone who loves the trend but refuses to go near the olive green color, consider wearing olive on the bottom, like this J Brand Twill Pencil skinny jean or try a black or grey military like style with hardware detail like the Yoana Baraschi Charm Cadet Knit Coat in Black or Juicy Couture's Band Jacket in Driftwood.

Bottoms Up!

We've been showing a lot of tops on here recently, but we haven't really given you any bottoms to pair them with. We at Urban Minx have an absurdly wide selection of pants, but let's showcase a few of our new favorites! The Buxton Leather Pants in Charcoal by TAG are so rocker chic, and they'll look great with almost any top, but with their muted color would be best paired with something white or black. The Penelope Pants in Black by Bailey 44 are stretchy yet form-fitting and would look amazing under an over-sized tank or tee. The Mid Rise Boot Cut Jean in SMT from Hudson Jeans are a classic homage to blue jeans, but with a bit of a twist on the back pockets.

Bailey 44: Fashion To Wit

It's always great getting a new shipment of Bailey 44 because not only do they have innovative, beautiful, stylish designs but they take the time and creativity to name each piece in an out of the ordinary way.

The Partner in Crime Blazer (pictured at left) is a great example of a perfect classic updated with modern ingenuity and you can tell that a lot of thought went into the comfort as well.

Their 80's themed collection had great pieces and of course names. One of my favorites was the Whip It Good Dress, a soft knit dress with edgy studs and an elegant fit. You just can't help but look cool when wearing Bailey 44.

Lovers of magic (I mean, really, who isn't these days) can appreciate the Bailey 44 group of ethereal, grecian styles like the Sorceress Top in Silver.

We always look forward to new Bailey 44 shipments, they always keep us guessing and wanting more! *aw

Pick of the Week!

From the Moroccan themed collection by Bailey 44 comes the Taza Top in stone/black. The elegant, yet exotic details transform this simple piece completely.

Perfect with black leggings or dark skinny jeans, this top can easily be worn night or day and is a great piece to accessorize. The taupe and black combination is simple enough, but the ruffled upper adds modern beauty.

The unique and serene design is a must have, it's no wonder everyone is head over heels for this designer. Go classy, sophisticated or fun with Bailey 44!

Like Night & Day

Does your wardrobe have a strict divider between day and night? Some pieces may be more interchangeable than you might think. A long, white-linen shirt is an easy beach cover up during the day, but pair it with heels and statement jewelry and you're set for a night on the town.

Another item on our versatility list is the well fitting blazer. It's the perfect contrast when worn with cut-offs and a neutral tank. Or go glamorous with heels and trousers.
Try the 'Johnny Are You Queer' Blazer in Black and Flo Pink from Baily 44.

Brand New Bailey!

New Bailey 44 has arrived at UrbanMinx just in time for spring! But don't expect linens or lace from this edgy brand. Bailey 44 has built its name on the most modern styles.

Though you will see a softer side in their ruffled Electric Cool-Aid Cardigan, this season has seen a lot of stud and cut-out details - all with an eighties vibe.

You can shop the newest Bailey 44 spring collection at UrbanMinx!

What to Wear: Party Like a Rockstar

We're seeing a lot of edgy looks on the runway this winter -exposed zippers, studs, bondage boots, and black leather have all been making an appearance.

While the look can find its roots in the punk rock movement of the eighties, you don't need to be an angst-ridden teenager to rock this style.

The updated rock look has more than an ounce of class with a feminine facet now in consideration. The studs in this Bailey 44 'Whip It Good' Tank are a good way to work edge in without being over the top. A set of Zipper Leggings underneath will make for a slim silhouette. Top them with the luxe Motorcycle Jacket from Juicy Couture and you're ready to roll.

This look is all about being bold, so don't be afraid to throw in a flash of colour like this Juicy Couture Patent Hobo and a set of femme fatale earings like these Jet Chandeliers. Shoes should be sassy but understated like a pair of peep toes with noticeable hardware.

Tough Love: Edgy Looks We Adore

We're loving the edgy turn trends have been taking this winter. While the traditional rich, dark shades remain a constant, designers are now adding all sorts of fractious fun to new designs.

Last winter was a bit heavy handed when it came to laying on the couture angst to the point of totalitarian extremes. This season sees a softer side which incorporates lace and luster to complement leather and studs.

Retro Roundup

It's evident there's a lot of fun involved in naming each of Bailey 44's collections, but we think this winter's collection is particularly diverting.

Named for well-loved eighties music hits like 'Tainted Love' and 'Whip it Good,' Bailey 44's latest line up takes the theme a step further by incorporating edgy elements reminiscent of that particular decade. Cut-out sleeves, pyramid studs, and a slenderizing sort of bondage banding are only a few of the details that make this collection really stand out.

Break for Bailey 44

Bailey 44 takes a full-circle fashion turn this season, stepping away from their recent rigid styles in favor of a more feminine take. Despite the shift, Bailey 44 has hardly lost its edge. The brand still incorporates its signature use of studs, streamlined cuts, and dramatic shades - all accents represented best in the new Road Warrior Top and sister style Road Warrior Dress.

What's new is the way the styles hang and hug curves in all the right places, flattering the feminine frame and enhancing every angle attractively. Bailey 44 even finds the beauty in basics, as in their Telling the Tales Dress.
