Your April Showers Outfit

The promise of warm weather on the horizon has us impatiently counting the days to be able to wear our spring trend buys. But spring is not without it difficulties when it comes to planning your outfit for the day. If you are like me, you have already been caught leaving work in a skirt in a down pour with the morning gave prelude of a perfect spring day. instead of being stuck in the winter wear for another month, here are a few ways to work them in during the unstable weather months.

Peace in your spring buys with your winter wear. A bright purse will add instant cheer to your outfit.

Melie Bianco Charlotte Bag in Salmon, Juicy Couture Canvas Floral XL Daydreamer in Regal Multi, Ted Baker Bow Ikon Bag in Turquoise

Always bring a light jacket or cardigan! They're easily able to fit in a large purse. And it's better to have a little room taken up in your bag than to be stuck in the cold without a cover-up.

Tulle Safari Jacket in Khaki, Splendid Long Sleeve Pocket Cardigan in Military, Michael Starsw 3/4 Sleeve Cardigan in Heather

The only thing bad about the wide leg trend, is getting caught in the rain. If their is even a slight chance of rain chose the cropped trend to avoid drenched legs.

J Brand Inez Slim Fit Chino in Vintage Fawn, Juicy Couture Troupe Wool Pant in Castle Grey, Hudson Dundee Cargo in Wheat

Must Have Layering Piece

Vests are one of my favorite completer pieces. They add dimension to any season's wardrobe. Just add one of these little numbers and you're outfit will gain some real style points.
Wear them open, buttoned, Belted, dressed up, dressed down, over a dress, with shorts, trousers, or denim. The combinations are endless!

One of the hottest trends this season is fur, so why wouldn't it be on this great staple as well?
Take it from these celebs, these pieces are a must have for now and the warmer months ahead!

More's the Better

Volume was the watch word at this year’s spring/summer London Fashion Week line-up. This season layering enters a more sophisticated dimension, mixing patterns on top of patterns. Key players in this runway trend included Charles Anastase with a decidedly romantic use of tulle, ruffles, and sensually soft colours, and fresh-eyed Eley Kishimoto, who brought their singular designs to life with vivid hues and surprisingly cohesive prints.

Not only a wholly functional means to keep the chill, prying fingers of early spring out, layering gives the wearer opportunity to have fun and make a statement with their fashion rather than trying to create interest with a dull, flat plane.

The possibilities are endless, but those in the know relate that the key to successful mastery of this trend is to have a cohesive color throughout each piece so it doesn’t look like you got dressed in the dark.
