Your April Showers Outfit

The promise of warm weather on the horizon has us impatiently counting the days to be able to wear our spring trend buys. But spring is not without it difficulties when it comes to planning your outfit for the day. If you are like me, you have already been caught leaving work in a skirt in a down pour with the morning gave prelude of a perfect spring day. instead of being stuck in the winter wear for another month, here are a few ways to work them in during the unstable weather months.

Always bring a light jacket or cardigan! They're easily able to fit in a large purse. And it's better to have a little room taken up in your bag than to be stuck in the cold without a cover-up.

The only thing bad about the wide leg trend, is getting caught in the rain. If their is even a slight chance of rain chose the cropped trend to avoid drenched legs.

2011 Trend Spotting: Oxfords

Last fall I fell in love with the oxford trend but wasn't sure if it was just a crush that would pass and I would be left with a pair of shoes I never wore....since then my love of oxfords has only grown and I am kicking myself for not procuring a pair for myself already. Now I am on the hunt and luckily we just received some new Nicole oxfords in.

Celebrities definitely adore their oxfords and it's interesting to see the different ways they choose to wear them. Of course Katy Perry takes hers up a notch by being bright blue, but I love the simple and elegant way Katie Holmes wears both her black pair (with leggings) and tan pair (with rolled up boyfriend jeans). Blake Lively's version of the oxford is uptown while Rosario Dawson's is definitely downtown. Both look fabulous. Sienna Miller provides the London oxford look while Whitney Port gives the style a youthful, fun punch.

Trend Alert: Return of the Oxfords

We've shown you how Juicy Couture is turning brogue shoes into brogue bags, but we haven't shown you why brogues and oxfords are making an ultra cute comeback.

Who said oxfords were only for men and nerds--tell that to Emma Watson, Sienna Miller and Rosaria Dawson, all of whom (and many more!) were caught rockin' the ox. And who can blame them; they're cute, casual and classic. Emma paired her's with a sassy dress, much like our Strapless Button Dress in Black by Miss Me.
